The Big Promise

The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." (Genesis 12:1-3)

We are beginning a new year… 2019.  I don’t know about you, but it seems just a little crazy to be this far into the 21st century… but here we are.

During the month of January, we are going to discover that God’s BIG Promise was made to Abram about 4000 years ago.  That sounds like it is way too long ago to matter to us today… but it does matters because… We are the fulfillment of that promise!

We are God’s family and we have been blessed… to be a blessing. This month we’ll be learning what that means and how it is going to make this year of 2019 into a time of change, growth, and excitement at DeWitt Christian Church.

>Here are some things to watch and pray for right now!

A New Worship Leader:  We are actively looking for the right person to become our part-time worship leader. Their responsibilities will include leading the planning of our worship; and encouraging and building up worship ministry team.

New guests worshiping with us every week: It’s been shown over and over that most people visit church because a friend, relative, neighbor, or co-worker invited them to visit.  I’m praying and working for our church to be so “on fire” with the blessings of God in our lives that we actively blessing the people in our lives… which will result in new people coming to DCC every week!

A new way for our guests to become part of the DCC Family: In the next month I will be working with our leadership team to develop a fun and encouraging way for our guests to get connected here at DCC.

Expecting God to work in surprising and exciting ways at DCC: One of my favorite verses (It’s in the top 300) is Ephesians 3:20-21, “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

Becky and I are both so pleased and excited to be here at DeWitt Christian Church. We know that 2019 is going to be a great year!

God Bless,
